Welcome to the Online Art Gallery of Karen Kennedy
Finding inspiration for a new painting is never difficult for me. The problem is finding enough time to paint all of them. Sometimes the inspiration comes when I see a special lighting or it could be a person I see experiencing something special in their own life. I am fortunate to live in a place where I can study and paint animals in their natural environment. When I travel I am delighted with the exciting new scenery and by the people I meet. My camera and sketchbook fill up quickly. Always, it is my emotional response to these things in my life that challenges me to create a piece of art. It gives me great satisfaction to share these emotions on canvas.
Featured Work
"Snow Deer" Karen Kennedy
"Snow Deer" is a 16" X 20" oil painting on canvas. Unlike studio models who require breaks, this beautiful “Snow Deer” posed for me for over an hour. On a snowy day, she sat just off our back patio seemingly curious about what I was doing while chewing her cud. The painting hung in a month long exhibition in the Wildlife Experience Museum and now hangs in a private collection.
